The Happy Chow Music Co.
My name is Ian Wright, and I live and work in the North of England. I am a composer, producer and gigging musician. I have a penchant for creating music of all kinds, and I am consistently driven in the pursuit and discovery of new sonic platforms to inspire, reinvent and develop my approach.
The creation of 'The Happy Chow Music Co' is a brand new venture for me, specialising in the creation of new, eclectic compositions for commercial use in film, television, radio and other multi media platforms. I am so very excited to embark on this journey and share my music with you. I should mention that Cleo, my Chow Chow, is the inspiration behind the name.
As a musician I play guitar, piano, woodwind and sing. Together, with my most recent band, I have supported, and shared stages with artists such as Big Country, Howard Jones, Fairport Convention, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, The Feeling, Rita Hosking and Sean Feder, Jasmine Morley and Ferocious Dog.
Andy Hughes from 'Acoustic' magazine wrote of our performance at 'The Acoustic Festival of Great Britain'
- ‘another fabulous set was delivered by Cartoon Food, whose intelligent songs and cleverly understated composition made them a crowd favorite. Bands like this are what make festivals such a pleasure – they know how to connect with their audience, and the wit and warmth of their songs and chat made them another name for people to seek out for further listening’.
Together with the band, I played alongside the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for a specially commissioned project for the BBC.
Going forward I intend to grow my portfolio and client base along a very steep but ultimately enjoyable learning curve.

Much love to you all.
Ian (and Cleo).
